You may have heard this or something similar from a friend, co-worker or family member.

You can visit your local church for their Easter sermon. We have to remember what Jesus did on the cross, which is the fulfillment of God's eternal plan for the whole world.

One Easter spring morning I came across a clump of handsome daffodils bursting through the middle of a path of newly laid tarmac. It's the day Christians commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion at Calvary.

I know that many find this incredulous. Understanding our motivation may help.

"The fellowship of his suffering can be likened to the beauty or the dividend we benefit from the death on the cross". Many members will have brought guests, and pastors want to be sure to preach a compelling sermon. Ray Pritchard, president of Keep Believing Ministries, an Internet-based ministry serving Christians in 225 countries, shared his thoughts on Christmas and Easter and further explained why Christians should view the two holidays as equally significant.

Christians believe the son of God as Jesus Christ was arrested, tortured, and finally crucified by the Romans.

It works great, if not for one reality: the words of Jesus.

"Christianity is a life style of power not just a religion and the cross of Jesus Christ is our power".

J&K: Farooq Abdullah wins Srinagar by-poll election
At least eight people were killed and over 100 injured in security forces firing on protesters during clashes on the poll day. Summary: "What do you say to the people who have voted, even if it may be seven per cent with all the pressures on them?"

They didn't know the Resurrection was around the corner. That God entered into our world and offered himself out of love for us in this complete self giving for the redemption of the world and the forgiveness of all sins of all times. Yes, Jesus had told them.

Easter, in which Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is a time of renewal when Christians of all denominations observe the cherished holiday in many different ways.

Eggs symbolise new life, and Jesus began his new life after his resurrection on Easter Sunday, and cracked eggs are symbolic of an empty tomb.

These were words first spoken by those who saw and touched the risen Jesus for themselves and went to their own martyrdom professing this creed with an unwavering faith. "When you think about it, this is a pretty intense action". Proselytize means to convert someone to another belief or opinion. "We try to be friendly and engaging while still giving people space". They knew that dead people did not rise from the dead.

And some people - even atheists - appreciate our efforts.

On behalf of the whole community at Lincoln Cathedral I wish you a joyful Easter.

I get that Christians who are proselytizing seem out of step in modern, live-and-let-live America, but when you are a Christian, you don't get to pick and choose which of his commandments to obey.
