North Korea has accused usa agents of masterminding an attempt to assassinate Kim Jong-un using a biological weapon.
According to the Ministry of State Security, American and South Korean spies coerced a North Korean citizen into carrying out the assassination attempt in return for money and supplied the would-be assassin with satellite equipment to track Kim's movement.
The report claimed that US officials bribed the North Korean citizen, who it called "human scum", with $750,000 in payments to assassinate Kim using biochemical substances.
The U.S. Embassy in Seoul and South Korea's National Intelligence Service can not be reached by the Reuters for comment.
Reclusive North Korea warned this week that US hostility had brought the region to the brink of nuclear war.
In the statement Friday, the ministry said in response to the alleged plot on Kim Jong Un, a "Korean-style anti-terrorist attack will be commenced from this moment to sweep away the intelligence and plot-breeding organizations of the USA imperialists and the puppet clique", referring to South Korea.
Pyongyang presented extensive details but offered no concrete proof to back its accusations of the plot, which it said could never have succeeded.
The CIA declined to comment on the allegations.

Though Chinese analysts recognize the dangers posed by the North, they have long seen Chinese influence as limited and believe that US hostility toward North Korea is the root cause of peninsular tensions, Snyder said.

Earlier this year, Seoul accused Pyongyang of using the chemical war agent VX to assassinate Kim Jong Un's exiled half-brother at Kuala Lumpur's airport, which led to calls in the U.S. to relist the North as a state sponsor of terrorism.
The U.S. has sent a warship to the region and installed a controversial anti-missile defence system in South Korea.
But he also said this week he would be willing to meet Kim Jong-un, in the right circumstances.
