On Thursday morning, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced four additional games between the Hokies and the Irish through the year 2036, culminating with a Labor Day night tilt in Lane Stadium that very year.
In addition to hosting Notre Dame in 2029 and 2037, Syracuse will visit South Bend in 2026 and 2034.
Notre Dame's partnership with the ACC, which requires the Irish to play five conference teams every season, began in 2014. Some won't be born for another two years or so. By the end of the 2037 season, Notre Dame will have played 120 games against ACC opponents, beginning with the 2014 football season.
Only one game has a specific date assigned so far. FSU won the following two seasons, a regular season win in 1994 and an Orange Bowl victory in 1995, before the Fighting Irish won in the first game played in Tallahassee in 2002.
If you care about games nine years out, let alone 20, you can find the Irish's ACC schedule for 2026-37 on the ACC website.
E3 2017: Nintendo Will Focus on Super Mario Odyssey at the Show
The first global Splatoon 2 tournament will be taking place starting June 13 with the Splatoon 2World Inkling Invitational. While Nintendo will likely talk a bit about the Switch's success at E3, its focus on games reflects a business necessity.
Notre Dame has a scheduling agreement with the ACC, where it's a non-football member in some sports while keeping its gridiron independence.
The two teams have met eight time before, with FSU football holding a 6-2 advantage all-time.
College football plans ahead.
Notre Dame won the first meeting in 1977 at Clemson, 21-17 in a battle of top 15 teams. Just 31 years old at the time, Ford is still the second youngest coach to beat Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium (opened in 1930). The others to do it are Florida State, Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio State.
