The Coast Guard said Tuesday it's now searching for survivors after it found a debris field in Bahamian waters where a plane disappeared while carrying a prominent NY executive and her two sons, along with the pilot.

The plane departed from Borinquen, Puerto Rico, at about 11 a.m. Monday and was en route to Titusville when contact was lost.

Aboard the twin-engine MU-2B are two adults, Nathan Ulrich and Jennifer Blumin of Manhattan, and her two children, ages 10 and 4.

The Coast Guard tweeted Tuesday afternoon that the agency's Southeast helicopter crew found a debris field about 15 miles east of Eleuthera, and were continuing to search for survivors.

Skylight confirmed Blumin and members of her family were on the plane in a statement. "Her family is working with investigators and we politely ask that you respect their privacy at this time".

At the time, the aircraft was off Eleuthera, flying at a speed of 300 knots at an altitude of 24,000 feet, the Coast Guard said.

Blumin was founder and CEO of Skylight Group, which provides event space around New York City, specializing in the fashion industry.

The US Coast Guard said there was "no indication" of bad weather when the plane went missing.

Ulrich is the ex-husband of Canadian-American actress Rae Dawn Chong.
