Defence attorneys had pushed to select a jury from another county because of intense pretrial publicity in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where District Attorney Kevin Steele, during his 2015 election campaign, had been critical of one of his predecessors for not prosecuting Cosby. Cosby is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his home near Philadelphia in 2004. A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday. The trial took place outside Philadelphia, but the jury came from the Pittsburgh area.

Constand is ready to go to trial again, said her lawyer, Dolores Troiani.
Even so, Oliver cautioned that the emergence of a particular narrative - that Constand's testimony was not believable, or that only one or two holdouts refused to convict Cosby - could affect potential jurors' view of the case.
Montgomery County Judge Steve O'Neill agreed to keep jurors' identities under seal.

"She has been positive in every way and continues to be and she has indicated she will continue to cooperate with us", said Steele, who was flanked by co-prosecutors Kristen Feden and M. Stewart Ryan, as well as Cheltenham and county detectives. In that decision, O'Neill blocked testimony during the trial by all but one of 13 women whom prosecutors identified as past victims and wanted to call as witnesses to establish a pattern of conduct by Cosby. "She's just looking for justice I believe".
If prosecutors do stand by their vow to try Bill Cosby a second time, it is possible that they will try to persuade the judge to allow more accusers to take the stand (only one, in addition to Andrea Constand, was allowed during the first trial). Alluding to a consensual sexual encounter, Cosby stated in a 2005 deposition that he administered Benadryl to help "relax" Constand.
The county courts and the district attorney's office have not yet calculated how much the Cosby prosecution cost taxpayers.
"This Court will schedule jury selection for the retrial in the upcoming weeks".
Cosby also is battling sexual battery or defamation cases still pending by 10 women in California and MA.
A mistrial was declared Saturday after jurors said they were hopelessly deadlocked.
Prosecutors plan to retry Cosby. The timeline of the alleged assaults stretches back decades, and of all of Cosby's dozens of accusers, only Andrea Constand's accusations have resulted in criminal charges against the aging comic.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
