"Hope I will perform well in the tour", added Pant, who has played just one T20 global for India.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav were picked Thursday for India's limited-overs tour of the West Indies comprising five one-day internationals and one Twenty20 starting June 23. Many fans and pundits had predicted that Indian captain Virat Kohli would get some rest after playing the grand home season, Indian Premier League and ICC Champions Trophy back-to-back.
Opener Rohit Sharma, who is also now with the national squad in England for the eight-team marquee event, is a notable omission from the Virat Kohli-led side. Both the players have been doing quite well of late, and Pant's IPL performance seems to have opened the doors for him.
Meanwhile, the BCCI said that the administrative staff of the Indian Team will continue to remain the same for the tour of West Indies.
