Two weeks after tennis superstar Venus Williams was involved in a auto crash in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, that resulted in a man's death, she has spoken out about the accident.

Venus Williams broke down in tears during a Wimbledon press conference on Monday when she was asked about her involvement in a fatal auto crash.

Barson suffered head injuries during the incident and died two weeks later.

A daughter of the victim has since filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Williams.

Police reports confirm that neither parties were under the influence of drugs or alcohol while behind the wheel.

What went down, per Venus' lawyer Malcolm Cunningham: "Ms. Williams entered the intersection on a green light".

Saints' Fairley to miss 2017 season with heart problem
Rankins accounted for 20 total tackles and 4.0 sacks last season, numbers that lead the Saints' available defensive linemen. After his solid season the Saints inked Fairley to a four-year 28 million dollar contract.

The accident happened on June 9 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., outside a country club near Williams' home. There was also no evidence that she was distracted by an electronic device at the time of the crash. The other vehicle was being driven by Barson's wife Linda, who told the police that she was heading to an intersection going west when Williams unexpectedly made a move going north.

Police in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. say Williams ran a red light in her 2010 Toyota SUV, which caused a crash that injured Jerome Barson and his wife, Linda.

Venus Williams began her 20th Wimbledon event Monday with a straight sets win over Elise Mertens, but during her post-match news conference, Williams had to answer questions about an unrelated event.

She initially responded and said: "There are really no words to describe, like, how devastating".

Esther Linda Barson was driving this Hyundai Accent when they T-boned the vehicle driven by Venus Williams. Williams, in tears, told reporters before her voice trailed off. In a statement issued to ABC News, he continues: "This is an unfortunate accident and Venus expresses her deepest condolences to the family who lost a loved one".
