A top rank official of 12 sector Rashtriya Rifles said that they were receiving inputs about the presence of militants in Tahab and adjoining villages for last four days.
Two militants were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Tahab village of Pulwama district in South Kashmir today morning. In Samboora, reports said, forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters. "An INSAS and SLR were found at the spot of the encounter".
He said a gunfight broke out between the two sides early Sunday, in which two ultras were killed. The neutralised terrorists have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Sheikh and Abid Magray.
