A Florida woman drove for two days with her dead 11-year-old daughter in her truck before hitting a guard rail in West Virginia, where witnesses then saw her dragging the body into the woods, officials said.
Plummer said Newsome texted him out of the blue early Saturday to say she was bringing Kaye-lea to Buffalo.
Plummer told the news station he believed his estranged wife "snapped" and that she'd been "the only person I trusted with my child".
Multiple reports say, police came here to Newsome's home in Jacksonville and found evidence of the girl being killed.
Erica Newsome was jailed Sunday on the charge of concealing the dead body of her 11-year-old daughter in her vehicle.
"Something pushed her over the edge and she snapped", he told News 4 Jax.
Investigators said they believed the girl died in Jacksonville and had been dead at least 24 hours when she was found.

According to MetroNews in West Virginia, investigators were able to determine the child was killed in Jacksonville and loaded into the auto. A search warrant has been filed to check her vehicle, police there were waiting for the arrival of Jacksonville Sherifff's Office detectives before enforcing the warrant.
"They had said they found them at the scene of the accident, but they don't believe, they didn't believe my daughter had died in the accident".
Newsome was headed to NY to see Kay-Lea's father who spoke with Action News Jax reporter Russell Colburn, who said that he spoke with Newsome while she drove and she acted like everything was fine. He had not seen his daughter since 2014, when Newsome moved her to Jacksonville, Florida.
On August 6th, West Virigina Police responded to a vehicle accident near the Virginia/West Virginia state line. "There is no confirmation on a cause of death, but foul play is suspected and more arrests could be forthcoming in Florida". "I don't know how this could have happened", Plummer said. "Something is very, very wrong", Plummer said.
"If she hadn't been discovered [by the couple] I wouldn't have known about the child", Barlow added. "She needs help. She really needs help".
