Cook County Judge Sandra Ramos issued first-degree murder arrest warrants for 42-year-old Wyndham Lathem, an associate professor in microbiology-immunology, and 56-year-old Andrew Warren, an employee at Oxford University, in the United Kingdom.

A Cook County judge issued a first-degree murder warrant for 42-year-old Wyndam Lathem and another warrant for 56-year-old Andrew Warren on Wednesday in connection with the brutal slaying of 26-year-old Trenton H. James Cornell-Duranleau.

Police say 30-year-old Cornell-Duranleau - thought to be a hair stylist - was found with multiple stab wounds in his 10th floor apartment near the city centre last Thursday, before being pronounced dead at the scene. Lathem is listed as a friend on Cornell-Duranleau's Facebook page.

Investigators found Cornell-Duranleau's body at Lathem's home, but it's unclear what the suspects' relationship to the victim is, according to CBS.

Lathem has been a faculty member at the university since 2007.

Alan Cubbage, a vice president at Northwestern University, said: "This is now a criminal matter under investigation by the appropriate authorities and Northwestern University is co-operating in that investigation".

Tillerson added that Trump will most likely sign the bill, adding however, that Washington will nevertheless try to restore relations with Moscow.

Lathem is an associate professor of microbiology and immunology at Northwestern University.

The murder is the first in the River North police beat that covers the 500 block of North State since at least 2001, according to the Chicago Police crime database.

Cornell-Duranleau had graduated from cosmetology school in MI, and had moved to Chicago fairly recently.

According to an obituary posted by the mother, Cornell-Duranleau was born in Lennon, Mich., a small town about 50 miles northeast of Lansing.

Warren is a senior treasury assistant at Somerville College in England, which is part of the Oxford University network, according to a university website. "Trenton was a caregiver and loved to help others". "At some point in the past few years he taught medical students or graduate students, never undergrad, " Cubbage said.

Oxford University released a statement on Tuesday saying it was "not aware of this case, which is clearly extremely concerning".
