Not only Yasin Malik but Chairman of the moderate section of the Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umer Farooq have also been detained and put under House arrest in Sringar.
Continuing with its probe in the funding of terror and separatist activities in the Kashmir Valley, the NIA had yesterday arrested Bhat and Yusuf.
DG NIA Sharad Kumar had told reporters, "The raids have been carried out in several places in Delhi, Srinagar and Gurugram in connection with terror funding".
The NIA also raided the residence of prominent separatist Shia leader Aga Syed Hussain Badgami, who is also part of Syed Ali Shah Geelani-headed faction of the Hurriyat Conference.
Earlier, NIA had raided the residence of Hurriyat (G) leader Agha Syed Hassan's residence in district Budgam.
The agency carried out searches at 14 places on June 3 in Kashmir in connection with funds being received from Pakistan terror groups for carrying out subversive activities in the Valley. The raid began at 4 a.m. and continued the whole day.

Three top Kashmiri separatist leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had threatened to stage a sit-in outside the NIA headquarters in Delhi on September 9 and court arrest to protest against, what they termed as, "vilification" of Kashmiri people by the investigation agency. "A posse of policemen raided Abi Guzar office of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) in the heart of Srinagar and arrested Malik to desist him from spearheading the poll boycott campaign", a JKLF spokesman had said, as per PTI.

It is pertinent to mention that united resistance leadership has chose to go to Delhi on 9th September and court arrest before NIA. Meanwhile, ED is also probing money laundering by separatists/hawala traders/LoC traders while funding terror/stone pelting activities in the valley.
