Although Tropical Storm Irma has slowly moved out of Florida and now the Chesapeake Region Red Cross is quickly jumping into action to provide assistance to the many that were affected by the storm.
For this training, volunteers must be over 18-years-old, have registered through the Red Cross website, and passed a criminal background check. Volunteers must commit to being deployed for at least 14 days and be ready to deploy within 48 hours after being assigned.
In addition to the 15 Red Cross volunteers deployed for Irma relief, 16 Red Cross volunteers from the area are still in Texas for Harvey relief efforts and 28 volunteers have returned home.
