Air France operates 10 Airbus A380s, the largest passenger planes in the world. A super jumbo A380 ofAir France which acted as a liaison Paris-Los Angeles, had made an emergency landing in Canada. All the passengers were being helped by teams dispatched to the location, it said in a statement.

Two flights took almost 500 Air France passengers stranded in Goose Bay on Saturday on their way to Los Angeles early Sunday morning, almost a full day after they boarded the plane in Paris. An Air France statement confirmed the engine had suffered "serious damage".
The plane landed safely at 1542 GMT, it added.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating after a California-bound airliner operated by Air France was forced to land in Labrador due to engine troubles. Engine Alliance is a joint venture between General Electric and Pratt & Whitney.
The plane landed 90 minutes later.

He said passengers had been provided with meals and that the captain had come out to speak to passengers.
The landing went off with no problems for the jetliner carrying 496 passengers and 24 crew members, the spokesman said.
Rick Engebretsen, one of the passengers, wrote a Twitter message saying he had heard a loud thud and felt vibration while in the air.
The crew were able to conduct a visual examination and determined that the engine's cowling inlet had blown out.
"For now, the two flights are scheduled to leave Goose Bay at 04h15 (local time)".
