After the attack, authorities in the United States, the Philippines and Australia joined efforts to search for Danley, hoping she might shed some light on the motive behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Now Danley has been flown to Los Angeles to "clear her name" and shed light on why Paddock carried out the deadliest mass shooting in USA history.
Danley is due to return to the U.S. on Thursday (NZ time) and has "questions to answer" according to United States police. Because Steve is not here to talk anymore.
"If Marilou was there, this, maybe, as well, didn't happen because she won't let it happen", she said.
Danley landed at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday evening, a law enforcement source told CNN.
She was expected to be questioned upon her arrival in Los Angeles, the New York Times reported.
It is not yet clear when Marilou, an Australian national, left the USA, but she flew from Hong Kong to Manila on September 25.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo told reporters meeting President Trump's plane in Nevada that the interview was to be conducted shortly.
According to ABC News, Danley left the United States for the Philippines on September 15, about two weeks before Paddock checked into his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel and began the final phase of carrying out an attack that the authorities said was meticulously planned.
Police say Paddock set up surveillance cameras in the hallway outside of his hotel room.Читайте также: Game of Thrones season 8 directors revealed: Fan favorites return
She was taken out a back way so she wouldn't be seen in public, and she was met by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents immediately upon landing, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News. Investigators are still piecing together the motives for the shooting that killed at least 58 people and are now focused on one thing: what do we know about Marilou Danley?
'We are making progress, ' the sheriff said in determining Paddock's motive.
Whatever his motive, authorities said he planned the murderous attack in great detail, not only stockpiling almost two dozen guns in his hotel room but setting up cameras in the peephole and on a service cart outside his door, apparently to watch for police coming for him.
Police are not aware whether the devices were transmitting - the FBI is investigating their use - but the Clark County sheriff told reporters he thinks the shooter might have used them to watch for people approaching his room. And authorities say it's too early to tell whether the killings were an act of domestic terrorism.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Danley was in her native Philippines on Sunday night when Paddock opened fire on a crowd of thousands who were attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert.
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said USA authorities contacted Australian officials to help locate her.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Danley had worked as a high stakes hostess at a Reno, Nevada casino, where investigators believe she met Paddock. It's unclear when the couple met.
As of now, Danley is not under arrest, nor is she charged with any crimes.
The abuse would come when she asked to use his casino card to make the purchase, Mendoza said.
Speaking to CNN affiliate KHBS, the daughters of Danley's ex-husband described their former stepmother as a "good and gentle person".При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
