Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said Padmavati will not be screened in Bihar till filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali clears his stand on the objections raised by people. "The panel has asked Mr Bhansali and Mr Joshi to appear before it and present their views on the movie". While the film is dealing the anger of several political parties and cultural groups, the movie is also awaiting a clearance Certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India.
The panel, which also looks into the issues of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, had called the meeting to discuss the problems and issues faced by the film.
A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said, "We are governed by the rule of law".

The Supreme Court made the observations after ministers of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have demanded that Padmavati be banned or not released until changes are made.
