After checking into a hospital earlier this week, Cassidy went into a medically induced coma, but he has since regained consciousness, Geffen said by phone. Cassidy, whose grandfather and mother also were stricken with the memory-loss disease, told the magazine of his diagnosis, "I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming". He went to the hospital on Wednesday and was in pain.
