Antonio Conte has warned David Luiz he faces a fight to win back his Chelsea place after the Brazil defender was dropped for the 1-0 win over Manchester United.

The post-match Chelsea chatter was all about David Luiz, following the defeat of Manchester United - but the real story was the man wearing the Brazilian's boots.

Not only was he dropped by Chelsea for the huge Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday, but he's now been left out of the Brazil squad for their worldwide friendlies, per Mirror.

The Brazil worldwide was left out of the Blues squad for Sunday's 1-0 win over Manchester United and even trained alone that morning after an apparent falling out with Conte.

According to The Times, Conte was also upset with the conduct of Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas following last week's heavy loss to Roma, but Luiz was the player most seriously punished.

"The coach has to make the best decision for the team".

The Italian added: "This can happen to every one of my players, if I see that they are not in good form".

He claimed there was a need for an independent, transparent and fair investigation into these human rights violations under the United Nations.

But having missed all of Chelsea's preseason to represent his country, Mikel quickly found himself out of Conte's plans, with the Italian eventually neglecting to include him at all when listing his central midfield options in news conferences.

"I repeat: I have to put my face to every situation and then sometimes to make important decisions".

Luiz was guilty of some shocking defending against AS Roma in the Champions League.

The Chelsea defender is now set to come face-to-face with his club boss Antonio Conte earlier than expected following their fallout.

"Maybe in the future I can decide a different way, or continue in this way". I have to make the best decision for the team.

"I'd be happy to eat humble pie if I'm wrong - and there's part of me that will be pleased if I am because I've a lot of respect for the guy".

"I think that [Jose and I] shake the hand two times, it's enough. I try to do this".
