President Trump takes a break during his remarks: "They don't have water". Unflattering comparisons to Marco Rubio's moment of dry-mouth in 2013 were common, something Trump has, himself, mocked on Twitter and during the campaign. "But not bad for his 1st time", Rubio tweeted Wednesday afternoon, linking to a video of Trump stopping mid-speech to look for his water bottle.
Reporters pointed out a bottle of Fiji water under the podium, which Mr Trump picked up and dramatically stared down the lens of the camera while opening the bottle.
Yes, but what makes the move even more freakish is the fact that back in 2013, the now-president called U.S. Senator Marco Rubio a "total choke artist" after the politician drank water during his State of the Union response. "You know, after watching that, I need a drink", Colbert said.
Trump pulled a bottle of water out of his pocket and exclaimed, "It's Marco!"
