Uh oh! Cooper was talking about a tweet he had sent to our too-often-online president, Donald J. Trump, who was trying to walk back his endorsement of Alabama Republican Senate candidate and accused child predator Roy Moore following Moore's defeat last night. You endorsed him you tool.
Cooper tweeted about it Wednesday, explaining, "just woke up to find out someone gained access to my twitter account".
This is now the only official statement by CNN explaining the tweet sent from Anderson's account.
In a statement, CNN said that the tweet was not sent from Cooper's phone, but from the phone of his assistant. "Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!" "We're working with Twitter to secure the account", it said.
Is Mueller subpoena of Deutsche Bank Fake News?
Trump also has mortgages with the bank on his Trump National Doral Miami golf course and has borrowed off Trump Tower Chicago. Mr Mueller is investigating alleged Russian attempts to influence the election, and potential collusion by Trump aides.
Democrat Doug Jones beat Moore to win the Senate seat in a stunning victory for his party and a huge political blow to Trump. "We are looking into how this happened", he said.
And a hack is what CNN's PR attributed the tweet to later in the morning.
The statement added: "His assistant inadvertently left his phone unlocked and unattended at the gym early this morning, and someone took the phone and sent the tweet".
CNN and Cooper responded to say the account was hacked.
Meanwhile, some Twitter users were not convinced of CNN's explanation regarding the alleged hack.
