Despite that, Plummer's family claim that Omar Caboo, Laura's former husband, had previously presented to them evidence that he suffered from long-term back problems.
Sister Rachel Plummer said her mother was "devastated" by the sentence. "We are devastated", she said. Both Laura's family and lawyers have argued that the pills were intended for Caboo - who provided the court with medical papers showing his back pain -and that Laura neither had any idea they were illegal nor plans to sell them.
She said: "She's answered some questions wrong because she's not understanding them, she obviously can't think straight".
Turner did acknowledge that she was naive but that she was honest and hardworking too. "She doesn't deserve that".
33-year old Laura Plummer from Hull, England, was handed the three-year sentence for drug smuggling on Tuesday.
Ms Plummer has been held in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada, where she was arrested at the airport on October 9.

Her family had been told that she could face up to 25 years in jail, with one lawyer even mentioning the death penalty.
The trial was held this morning with a new interpreter and she was jailed by a judge for three years and fined around £4,200.
"It clearly is a banned substance and whilst we must respect the law of other countries there must be good sense and fair play as well", Turner added.
Roberta Sinclair said her daughter was being held in bad conditions in a communal cell with no beds, sharing with up to 25 other women.
