Lake effect snow in northwest in was making for a messy morning commute on Thursday, and could dump up to 4 inches in some areas by the afternoon. Additional snow accumulations of 6 inches are expected. Winds could gust as high as 20 miles per hour.
Skies will quickly clear up afterward, with expected high temperatures Thursday around 30 degrees.
Friday's high should top out at 28. Highs in the mid to upper 20s in most areas.
The snow will begin after 5 a.m. with wind chills between 15 and 20 and a low temperature around 23, the National Weather Service predicts.
Sun and 38 is forecast for Monday and Tuesday, with a slight chance for rain and snow on Tuesday.
